Why not make your blog comments the best they can be? If you make some profits along the way by commenting on blogs, even better!

If you are going to take the time to post a comment on a blog, why not use the space to your advantage? When you work online everything you put out there paints a picture of who you are or what your business is all about. Why not make your blog comments the best they can be? If you make some profits along the way by commenting on blogs, even better!

Before you hastily write a comment on a blog, think about why you are doing it. You don’t have to post a comment. If you want to, what’s the purpose? Why are you taking time out of your busy day to comment on this particular blog?

Is it simply to let the blogger know you appreciated the post?

Is it to get the attention of the blog readers?

Is it to make business connections?

Is it in response to another comment?

Perhaps you want to state your agreement or disapproval of the post?

Is it to drive traffic back to your site or your own blog?

Determining ‘why’ you are taking time out of your life to comment on a blog can go far in helping you decide what to say in your comment.

You should keep blog comments respectful, fairly short and they should get right to the point. Blog comments aren’t the place to write essays or personal opinion pieces. If you do happen to have a different spin on what a blogger has posted—or if you really have a lot to say on the topic—put all of that up on your own sites. Then, write out your comment and let the blogger and readers know that if they wish to learn more about why you feel the way you do, they can do so at your site.

Think carefully before you post a link to your own site in the comment boxes on blogs. Some comment boxes have an area where you can post your link, others do not. If the blog makes it available for you to post your link, by all means do it. However, if it does not and you opt to post your link in the comment box itself, make sure the comment you make is truly useful and/or engaging to the topic at hand—otherwise, you’re comment and link will just be looked at and considered spam. In regards to the link, make sure it directs to something on your site that is relevant to the topic. Having the link go directly to your home page isn’t a good idea.

Above all, if you are trying to get your name out there, drive traffic to your sites and earn a good online reputation, know what you’re talking about. Don’t ever make any false claims or give misleading information. All this does is hurt your credibility. Lastly, proofread your comments before you post them. Bad grammar and misspelled words undermines your reputation.

You’ve heard a lot about blogging and you may even keep up with a few online blogs yourself. There are millions of blogs on the Internet and they include a range of topics on virtually every topic imaginable. But just why do people engage in blogging anyway and what is the allure of an online diary?

First of all, it’s important to understand that blogs have become much more than glorified diaries or journals. They have become a major driver for online marketers who are using the blog as an innovative approach to increasing traffic to their website. Blogging has become much more popular today than ever before.

The following is a list of the top eight (8) reasons people blog. Take a look at these popular reasons and you may find that this is something worth pursuing for your own personal or business needs:

1. A person has something to say and they want hundred, thousands, and even millions of people to hear what they have to say. They want to get a message across or promote a ‘cause’ and blogs are the perfect way to do that across a huge audience.

2. Online marketers use blogs to promote a product or service. It is an easy and affordable component of an online marketing plan and it is a great way to promote a business, products, or services.

3. People create blogs to connect with other people who share a common idea, thought, or cause. They want to find people who feel as they do about a particular topic and they seek to engage others in conversation about their topic. People who are passionate about their blogging topic will find a huge following throughout the blogosphere.

4. Everyone likes to be valued for their experience and expertise. Bloggers have a great opportunity to promote themselves and their knowledge. They can gain recognition and notoriety through their blog which can also help them promote their business or other endeavors.

5. Many people seek to make a difference in the world and blogs give them the platform and the tools to make it happen. They may want to express concerns, ideas, and recommendations to help people suffering from a particular illness. Others want to improve the way people educate and teach their children. Some people have a desire to influence political elections. Blogs offer a way to reach out to a huge crowd of people to make a difference in the world.

6. Some people simply enjoy writing and a blog is the perfect answer for them. They are creative and have a flair for creating interesting, engaging content. The blog is the perfect forum to share a particular passion.

7. Families find that blogs are a great way to keep up with what’s happing. No longer are centralized families able to get together and talk as they did in the past. Families are often dispersed geographically and a blog is a great way to stay in touch with each other.

8. And finally, blogs can be used as outreach or support groups for people who are experiencing similar issues in life. For example, people going through issues related to eldercare and caring for aging parents may find that blogging is therapeutic for them. It can provide them with an outlet for what is happening in their lives and they will gain tremendous support from people who empathize and also need support.

Blogging is used for many different reasons and by millions of people every day. One thing is for sure – bloggers are passionate about their topic and they are likely to be around for many years to come.

Technology continues to advance and nothing has grown more quickly than blogging. A blog, which is essentially a weblog or web log, is a basic website where new entries are made on a continual and frequent basis. The new posts, or entries, appear on the blog in reverse chronological order so readers will see the most recent posting first. Blogs started out as a type of journaling for many people but they have rapidly grown in popularity and many people actually make a lucrative living through their blogging efforts.

One of the biggest differences in a blog and a typically website is that blogs offer the opportunity for two-way conversations and interactions with other people. When people read a blog, they also have an opportunity to comment on the posting and forward the links to other sites where more people join the conversation. Blogs can quickly go ‘viral’ if the blogging content is interesting, valuable, and unusual.

Blogging has taken on a life of its own over the past decade, with over 100 million blogs on the Internet today. People use blogs to promote a cause, convey a message, or drive readers to their website. Many people will visit a website after reading blog entries they find interesting. This can quickly lead to new sales for the blogger if he/she is able to engage visitors and encourage them to visit a website with products and services for a fee.

There are many websites that make blogging simple and easy to get started today. Blogspot.com is one of the most popular and setting up a blog takes only a matter of minutes. Templates, tutorials, and an array of resources are available on sites such as BlogSpot.

But remember that blogging is not appealing to everyone. It takes a commitment of time and effort and successful bloggers know that consistency in updating posts, or entries, is essential to success. Successful bloggers also know that you can’t simply write on your blog and forget about everyone else. Bloggers must also visit other blogs, comment on blogs, and engage in interaction with bloggers who can help promote and advertise a blog. The community of bloggers is widespread and most of them are very willing to promote other blogs or websites that they find valuable, entertaining, and/or informative.

Before you decide to jump into the blogosphere with both hands, think about the commitment you must make to succeed. If you plan to only update postings now and then, this is probably not the best way for you to go. But if you like to write and are fervent about your blog’s topic, then you will likely succeed in this endeavor. Choose a topic that interests you and that you believe you can continually write about over time and provide new and interesting information related to the subject matter.

And one final thought – when you enter the world of blogging, be prepared for feedback that is both positive and negative! Not everyone will agree with you, but also remember that controversy can attract more attention to your blog and increase your readership exponentially!

Once you make up your mind to get started, create a schedule and a plan for continual updates to the blog. Create a plan and stick to it and before you know it, your blog will become popular and widely read.
